rental house tuscany La Fratta, designed by Baldassare Peruzzi. Peruzzi was born in 1481in Ancajano, near Volterra, but he lived in Siena until the start of his artistic education. A young man, he headed for Rome to study architecture and artistic painting. He broke through with his design for the Villa Farnese at he banks of the Tiber river in Rome, known from the frescoes of Raphael. In 1520, Pope Leo X asked him to complete the basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican, but the plans he made were never executed. After the plundering of Rome in 1527, Peruzzi returned to Siena, where he became town architect. Baldassare Peruzzi died in 1536 and was buried in the Pantheon alongside Raphael.
